About the County Treasurer |
|
John Coffman was first elected County
Treasurer in 2000. He filled an unexpired 2-year term,
then was re-elected in 2002. Prior to this position, he
spent 8 years on the County Board, serving on a variety
of committees that gave him a broad perspective on the
operation of the County.
John is a life-long resident of Ogle County. He
graduated from Polo Community High School, then went on
to earn a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Iowa
State University. While there, John also took many
Business and Finance electives and earned his private
pilot’s license. After graduating from college in 1985,
John returned to Polo to partner with his father in the
operation of their farm, the sixth generation of his
family to do so.
John serves on the Board of Directors of the PLN Mutual
Insurance Company. He is also a member of the Farm
Bureau, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association and the
Polo Rifle Club.
He and his wife Lisa reside on the family
